TRAINING

Specializing in flushing & retrieving dogs, but I accept any hunting breed.

• At the home kennels there are 30 acres, all of which is game-high fenced, affording complete security. Here initial yard/discipline work is done, moving on to released Quail.
• At Cypress Valley Preserve, there are 400 acres which provides a complete range of hunting conditions with released Quail, Pheasant and Chukka, and a large tank for water work training. Here demonstrations can be given, and I encourage owners to come and shoot/work with their dog prior to taking it home.
• Flushing/retrieving dogs, namely Spaniels and Labradors, are trained in the British style. NO electric collars are used.
• Pointing dogs are trained in the American style, and unless specifically requested, are not trained to retrieve. Electric collars are used.
• I do not have the facilities for snake training. However that is an item that can be arranged.
• Adjacent to the kennels is an exercise yard where every dog goes out for at least half an hour a day to assist in keeping them fit.
• The charges are $530.00 per month, paid in advance. After the first month there will be a discussion with the owner on whether further time is deemed necessary or required.
• All veterinary bills are to be paid by the owner.
• All visiting dogs must be up to date with their vaccinations including kennel cough.
